Lawyer: Eagles player licensed to carry gun in Texas

The lawyer for a Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver facing charges for driving with an unlicensed gun in New Jersey says that he is licensed to carry in Texas.

Fortunato Perri Jr. says that Josh Huff is licensed in his home state and that the gun was not loaded when he was stopped on the Walt Whitman Bridge on Tuesday morning.

Huff faces charges for possessing the gun without a permit in New Jersey and for the magazine found with six hollow-point bullets. Police said he also faces a disorderly persons offense for having less than 50 grams of marijuana.

New Jersey has strict gun laws and does not recognize permits issued in other states.

Perri says Huff posted 10 percent of his $25,000 bail and was released Tuesday.
